One day, two women were coaching a field hockey team of several 8-9 year olds. It occurred to them that the group of girls were something special and needed to be more than just a recreational team. Thus was born the Downingtown Drive Field Hockey Club. Initially, the club started as a single team, but has since evolved and grown into several teams, spanning multiple age groups.
Downingtown Drive is a field hockey club that accepts players of all abilities, from beginners who have never played field hockey to advanced players who have played in national tournaments and college showcases. The goal of Downingtown Drive is to provide a place for girls in and around the Downingtown area to learn the wonderful game of field hockey and provide an arena for them to play the game in a competitive atmosphere.
